Pollution, aussi néfaste pour votre peau !

Pollution, also harmful to your skin!

An international public health issue

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 9 out of 10 people breathe polluted airon the planet, and 11.6% of deaths are attributed to pollution… It is indeed a global issue.

In France, outdoor air pollution is responsible for 9% of mortality and reduces life expectancy by 2 years.

The main causes? Nitrogen oxides, fine particles, ozone…

The evident harmful effects on the body’s health are well-known, but perhaps less known are the effects on the skin, as pollution is a major factor in aging.

The damage to the skin

At TiL, we don’t want to contribute to your eco-anxiety, as we are already exposed enough to the prevailing catastrophism, and above all, our mission is not health-related.

However, we do want to help you take care of your skin by fighting against the effects of pollution as best as possible!

Being the largest organ of the body in terms of surface area, the skin is at the forefront of experiencing the harmful effects of pollution. It causes oxidative stress (the famous free radicals), triggers inflammation, disrupts the proper functioning of cells, and accelerates their disappearance. The consequences? Imbalance in the protective barrier, dehydration, dull complexion, allergies, increased sebum production, and accelerated aging. Yes, all of that…

The story of a challenge

The Skincare routine must, therefore, address several challenges: strengthening the skin barrier, reducing inflammation, protecting the biomechanical properties of the skin by limiting collagen degradation, combating free radicals, and hydrating.

Another challenge is the development of effective, sensory, natural products that can multitask, thereby avoiding the need for multiple products. But is it possible to achieve this without resorting to multiple ingredients? A lengthy scientific process has led to the discovery of all the molecules that act on these different skin parameters to combat the harmful effects of pollution in a tree known to all

The linden tree, already called the “medicinal tree” by Pliny the Elder in the 1st century, is now for the first time being utilized and concentrated through biotechnology, proving to be a true cosmetic gem in the fight against pollution and aging. Incredible, isn’t it? A sacred thousand-year-old tree to counteract the detrimental effects of 21st-century lifestyles…

A great world first

Three years of Research and Development were dedicated to investigating, for the first time in the world, the molecular structure of each part of the linden tree, discovering numerous highly active molecules against skin aging, and developing the 1st Complex that reproduces the entire tree’s activity through biotechnology: Tiliactiv4®.

It acts on all the beauty markers of the skin, particularly those affected by pollution: hydration, soothing, protection, regeneration, anti-aging, and anti-wrinkles, as well as radiance.

Tiliactiv4®, saturated with the soothing molecules of the linden tree, reduces inflammation by 64%.

-Rich in antioxidant flavonoids, including tiliroside specific to the linden tree, it captures 68.7% of free radicals.

– Concentrated in polysaccharides, it hydrates the skin and limits waterevaporation. Rich in rhamnose, they stimulate fibroblast proliferation, protecting collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid from degradation caused by free radicals. It is a comprehensive anti-aging solution that maintains skin elasticity and suppleness.

The vegetal power of the linden tree is reconstituted with maximum efficiency as the harvesting of linden trees (buds, branches, leaves, and flowers) is done on the family estate in Dordogne, ensuring complete mastery of a highly quality hand-picking process on trees that are over a century old and have never undergone any treatment. The material is used fresh and then cryo-extracted to preserve the integrity of the native cells.

TiL anti-pollution skincare

  • Thorough cleaning, the first essential step

The Gelée à Fleur de Peau delicately cleanses and removes makeup from your face. You’ll love the incredibly indulgent texture (99% natural) that transforms into a creamy foam upon contact with water. Delightfully scented with the delicate note of linden tree flowers, created by Francis Kurkdjian, it’s pure bliss morning and night!

As for its effectiveness, it’s quite astonishing as it restores a natural radiance to the skin. In the morning, it removes all the overnight secretions that clog the pores, and in the evening, it eliminates makeup residues and impurities that suffocate the skin, leaving it dull and congested, including the accumulated pollution particles throughout the day. Purified gently yet deeply, the skin regains clarity and luminosity. Plus, it is soothed by Tiliactiv4®.

  • A soothing and regenerating treatment, second must

The skin repairs itself at night, reaching the peak of its cellular renewal at 1 a.m., where it recharges its batteries. This is when the Baume Qui Ressource with its caressing and generous texture, infuses it with soothing, hydrating, and anti-aging natural actives to aid in its regeneration. Night after night, it reduces the signs of aging caused by daily aggressions, including the detrimental effects of pollution, thanks to:

1– Tiliactiv4®, an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-wrinkle, and hydrating agent, surrounded by:

2–Alfalfa, which boosts collagen,

3-Centifolia Rose, an antioxidant and anti-spot ingredient that enhances radiance,

4-Passionflower, which neutralizes oxidative stress caused by pollution and UV rays,

5-Nasturtium, which acts on cellular respiration.

A 98% naturally derived formula that ensures the skin experiences the effect of a good night’s recoveryand provides it with the means to defend itself against the challenges of the day.

While we can’t live with a shield to protect ourselves from pollution, we can at least minimize its damage to the skin with suitable skincare. And when they come from wild linden trees, thriving in the heart of the Périgord Limousin Regional Nature Park and shielded from any pollution, their regenerating power is even greater. Linden tree within the skin…
